What are we learning in 504?
Reading/Language Arts: We’re working with nonfiction text and learning about nonfiction text features. Math: Using an open number line to add sums up to 100 Writing: Working on a guided informational writing piece and we’ll begin one on our own topic toward the end of the week Science: This week we’re talking about energy. We’ll learn about sources of light, heat, and motion energy and how they are used. STEM: We will imagine and create plans for using recycled materials to make an object to trade at Mary Musgrove’s trading post made. The following week we will use our plans to create and improve upon our object. The students will be asked to collect their materials over the week, beginning Thursday. Be on the lookout for some odd items written in their agenda. Important Information: *Our guidance counselors have some upcoming donation drives: -Week of November 2nd – Collecting extra Halloween candy (in the lobby) -Week of November 9th – Food drive for St. Ann’s. The goal is to collect 100 cans per classroom. -November 2-20 – Collecting gently used jackets to be given to people in need in Cobb County (in the lobby) *Tritt is participating in Six Flags Read to Succeed program for the 2015-2016 school year. Your child can earn 1 free ticket to Six Flags for 360 minutes of recreational reading between now and February 15. Reminders and the log will also be included in the December, January and February PTA newsletters. *Friday is our ILC day. Please help your child remember their books EVERY FRIDAY. *It’s Healthy Habits Week: -Tuesday- bring a fruit or veggie for snack -Wednesday- We’ll talk about reducing stress and bring home a Fidgit Widgit -Thursday- Extra movement throughout the Day -Saturday- Join fellow Tigers at the Tritt Trot *We'll see our next GA presenter on Tuesday. Wear your blue Tritt shirts.
