What are We Learning in 302?
Reading: reading about our Georgia Hero Martin Luther King, Jr. and asking and answering questions using the key details from our reading -beginning our study of fairy tales and folktales looking at the story structure Writing: We will use what we've learned about MLK, Jr. to write a poem -We will look at various opinions about having wild animals as pets and generate our own opinion on the topic Math: We will work on adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers to 1,000. We'll look at previously learned strategies and apply them to larger numbers. Word Work: We'll review friendly letters and use commas correctly in our letters -study variant vowel /o/ syllable patterns (saw, moth, vault, ball) Social Studies: We'll complete our unit on MLK, Jr. Science: begin to look at sun, moon, and stars Reminders: *Tuesday Night's homework is always Scootpad and 20 minutes of reading *Return Media center books on Friday (we go to the ILC every Friday) - if your child finishes their books early, they may go any morning during morning work -As the weather is finally getting cold again, please dress your child appropriately for recess ( I know it's unpredictable and keeps getting warn then cold.) They can always bring light jacket to adjust to the temperature changes. -Your child should be recording their reading homework on the 200 Book Club logs
