This is the last FULL week of school. I cannot believe it! Please help your child to remember to log their minutes read on their summer reading account. I sent home the yellow card and information sheet yesterday.
What are we learning in 302? Reading- comparing 2 text and finishing our study of Charlotte's Web Writing- opinion piece Math- reviewing place value and addition and subtraction to 20 practice those facts at home for fluency Content- Economics- ways good and services are allocated Friday is Field Day. Please make sure your child has a healthy snack and a water. They should wear sunscreen and are able to wear a hat. Please make sure they are dressed in PE clothing. May 8th-12th5/5/2017
0 COMMENTS Parents, Thank you all who came to the STEM Showcase and our Author’s Tea. It was great to have you. Remember that we have our field trip on Monday. Please have your child wear their second grade shirts if they have them and tennis shoes. If your child is packing a lunch, please put in a disposable bag with name labeled. Here is what we are learning next week: Math: Problem Solving Reading/Language Arts: Charlotte’s Web novel study. We will be applying the reading strategies we have learned this year as we read this classic story. Writing: Informational writing Science: Life Cycles Social Studies: Goods and services Information and reminders: Monday: Field Trip to the Nature Center Tuesday: Staff vs. Parents softball game Wednesday: All student books are due to the ILC I hope you all have a wonderful Easter with your family! Information: *Please return your field trip forms and donations. Mark your lunch choice on the back. *Look over the registration form sent home, correct, complete, and sign the back. Return in the envelope with 4 stamps. Put the stamps inside. I'll only use as much as needed and will return all unused stamps to you inside your envelope when I mail report cards. *Your child should do 2o minutes of Scoot Pad as homework for Tuesdays. Reading: Reading multi-paragraph text and comparing two sets of text on the same topic Writing: we will be using our creativity with writing a few different types of poems Math: continuing shapes: 3-D and partition 2-D shapes into equal parts Content: Life Cycles - ask about our 6 larva Word Work: er and or endings I hope you all have a wonderful spring break. Information: Your child will bring home a permission form for the Chattahoochee Nature Center on Monday. Please complete the front AND back and return ASAP. What are we learning in 303? Reading: continuing to read nonfiction multi-paragraph text and identifying the topic of each paragraph as well as the main idea of the whole passage Writing: we will write a descriptive narrative about a highlight from our spring break -we'll finish publishing our opinion piece on our favorite toy. Your child will bring it their toy, a picture of the toy, or a short video of them using their toy to assist them in presenting their opinion about the Best Toy on Wednesday or Thursday. More information will come on Monday. Math: 2-D and 3-D shapes: recognize and draw (triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, cubes, ect.) Science: Life Cycles Word Work: ed and ing endings Thank you for making me feel so special on my birthday, Monday. I loved all of the cards, sweet notes, gifts, and lunch from the class.
