Week of September 14th

Fall is in the air and this will be our last week before fall break. Please help your child remember that we have check out in the ILC on Fridays.

Reading: Identify the main idea of each paragraph with in multi-paragraph text as well as the overall main idea of the passage

Writing: Writing a narrative of choice focusing on a small moment to narrow our topics. We'll begin with brainstorming and writing a draft using sensory details to paint a picture in our reader's mind. Later in the week, we'll edit and revise with the help of peers and the teacher to enhance our stories.

Word Work:  -review all vowels
                       - complete our unit on irregular plurals
                       - begin studying contractions and begin to use them correctly in our writing
Science: Take a look at how the amount of day light affects our trees and seasons
Social Studies: Continue our unit on the Regions of Georgia 

Homework for the week: 
-in addition to the daily math assignments in the agenda, study number words and work on learning to write their address correctly (proper capitalization and spelling)

Things to Remember:
-Remember to send in your Box Tops for Education this week. We have a collection box in our classroom. 
-The school store is open this week before school.
